The architect of Oregon Tech athletics, Howard Morris was instrumental in building the legacy of athletics at OIT is today.

A football, baseball and wrestling coach, athletic director and health/physical education teacher for 30 years - beginning in 1962. He earned NAIA District 2 Wrestling Coach of the Year in 1969 and 1970, while being named Evergreen Conference and District 2 Baseball Coach of the Year in 1981 and 1982. 

Morris was honored as the NAIA District 2 Administrator of the Year in 1989 and served as Cascade Conference Commissioner from 1994-2003.

Along with his induction into the OIT Athletic Hall of Fame, Morris is a part of the NAIA District 2 Coaching Hall of Fame, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Linfield University Hall of Fame and the NAIA Hall of Fame.
