KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech battled back from a tough opening 18 to post the fourth-best team round in program history, as the Hustlin' Owls sit in third-place after Day 1 of the OIT Fall Invitational at Running Y Resort.
 
Making their season debut, Tech (582 – 303-279) rebounded after a 19-over-par morning round to card a 7-under-par 279 in the afternoon, vaulting into a tie with College of Idaho (582 – 298-284). British Columbia (555 – 272-283) sits atop the leaderboard at 21-under-par, six shot clear of Lewis-Clark State (561 – 282-279).
 
Five different OIT players shot rounds under par under the late day sun, led by junior Silas Guzlas (76-68 – 144), who carded a 4-under-par 68, including birdies on 16 and 17 to close his day, climbing into a tie for ninth.
 
True freshman Massimo Cereghino (74-71 – 145), who led the Owls in Round 1, shot 1-under-par to move into a tie for 11th, while both Eastyn Ewell (76-70 – 146) and Colin Field (77-70 – 147) shot 2-under-par 70s in Round 2, moving into the Top-25.
 
Kade Bracken (74-71 – 145), playing as an individual, was the fifth OIT player to shoot under par in Round 2.
 
Jake Houston (67-66 – 143) is the leader in the clubhouse at 11-under-par, three shots ahead of LC State's Andrea Artusini (68-68 – 136) and Lucas Ortega (69-69 – 138).
 
The final round is set for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
