ASHLAND, Ore. –
Lily Everson and
Madi Perkins placed inside the Top-12 in the heptathlon at the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships, while the remainder of the Oregon Tech women's track team opened competition at the Raider Invitational – both hosted by Southern Oregon at Raider Stadium.
Everson placed ninth in the 15-athlete field, scoring 3,502 points, with Perkins taking 11th overall with 3,318 points. Everson led the way, placing third in the 800-meters (2:27.50), while Perkins took fifth in the javelin (32.45 meters / 106 feet, 5 inches). Eastern Oregon's Lizzy Grandle won the heptathlon with a 7-event score of 5,160.
Later in the day, Tech got two new CCC meet qualifying marks in the discus – as
Kalina Saechao (36.65 / 120-9) and
Ciena Gregory (33.69 / 110-6) hit the cut, while
Caitlyn Horrell (36.80 / 120-9) placed third overall.
Also in the field events,
Maevri Bergerson won the triple jump with a season-best mark of 10.70 meters (35-1 ¼).
On the track,
McKenna Donovan recorded the second-fastest 200-meter time in OIT history, clocking a time of 25.50 seconds, just ahead of teammate
Sydney Soskis (26.04).
Charis Childers led the Lady Owls in the 1,500-meters (5:02.78), as did
Chloe Crawford in the 5,000-meters (18:56.70).
Tech will complete the Raider Classic on Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m.
