KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Oregon Tech will send two athletes to Asheville, N.C., for next week's NAIA Women's Track and Field National Championships, to be held at Karl Straus Track.
Amina Redfield will compete in the javelin after hitting the NAIA "A" standard in the event, while
Sydney Soskis earned an at-large bid after a stellar final month of the year.
Redfield, a freshman, earned All-Cascade Conference honors with a second-place effort at the CCC Championships and enters the meet with the No. 4 mark in the NAIA (45.44 meters). The women's javelin will be held on Thursday at 4 p.m. (PDT)
Soskis, a senior, earned All-CCC honors in the long jump, setting a new OIT school record with a mark of 4.75 meters (18 feet, 10 1/2 inches) and enters the meet seeded No. 19. The women's long jump is set for Wednesday at 11 a.m.
