ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Making her NAIA Track & Field National Championship debut, Oregon Tech senior
Sydney Soskis placed 19th overall in the long jump on Day 1 of the event at Karl Straus Track.
Soskis had her best mark on her third and final attempt, posting a distance of 5.45 meters (17 feet, 10 1/2 inches). To reach the finals, athletes had to post a mark of 5.70 meters.
Soskis became the first OIT women's athlete to compete in the long jump since Heather Werth in 2000.
