LA GRANDE, Ore. – Oregon Tech had a big day in the throws and the 4x400-meter relay team closed the meet with a school record, as the Lady Owls placed fourth at the Cascade Conference Women's Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Banner Bank Track.
OIT finished the two-day meet with 67 points – trailing only British Columbia (205), Eastern Oregon (163) and College of Idaho (136), while outpointing rival Southern Oregon (56).
Freshman
Amina Redfield earned All-CCC honors with a second-place finish in the javelin, posting the No. 6 mark in OIT history with a throw of 45.44 meters (149-1) – holding the lead in the event until Round 4.
Joining Redfield in the All-CCC club was freshman
Caitlyn Horrell, who took third in the discus with a personal best mark of 39.64 meters (130-0) – the No. 3 mark in OIT history.
Maevri Bergerson capped an 18-point effort in the field events for Tech with a personal best leap of 10.85 meters (35-7 ¼) in the triple jump – the seventh-best mark all-time by a Lady Owl.
On the track, the quartet of

McKenna Donovan and
Sydney Soskis took fourth overall in the 4x4 – shattering the previous OIT record with a time of 3:57.34.
Donovan started the day with a bang, taking fourth in the 100-meters (12.27) – with the No. 4 mark by a Lady Owl. Everson posted the fifth-best mark by an OIT runner in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.02), placing seventh.
Tech added points in the 5,000-meters – as
Saundra Parsons placed fifth (18:47.67) and
Chloe Crawford took eighth (19:20.54).
