CORVALLIS, Ore. –
Amina Redfield punched her ticket to the NAIA Championships with a provisional mark in the javelin, as the Oregon Tech women's track team closed out competition at the PNW Invite, hosted by Oregon State, at Whyte Track.
The freshman, from Wilsonville, placed seventh in the event, recording a mark of 41.61 meters (136 feet, 6 inches) on her first attempt, hitting the NAIA "B" standard. Redfield also hit a Cascade Conference mark in the shot put (11.33 meters / 37 feet, 2 ¼ inches).
Kalina Saechao placed tenth in the shot put (11.81 / 38-9), hitting the CCC standard, with
Aurora Atwood recording CCC marks in both the javelin (35.49 / 116-5) and the shot (11.25 / 36-11).
Both
McKenna Donovan and
Sydney Soskis doubled up on the day, hitting CCC marks in both the 100-meters and long jump. Donovan finished seventh in the long jump (5.40 / 17-8 ¾) and clocked a time of 12.59 seconds in the 100, with Soskis posting a career-best mark in the long jump (5.31 / 17-5 ¼) and recording a time of 12.68 seconds in the 100.
Tiffany Humpherys capped the Lady Owls day with a CCC qualifying time in the 400-meters (1:00.56).
On Monday, OIT multi-event athletes will compete at the Umpqua Multis in Roseburg, with the entire team returning to action the first weekend of April at the Jenn Boyman Invite.
