RENO, Nev. – Solid opening marks, including a school record, highlighted Day 2 of the Nevada Invitational for the Oregon Tech women's track team, as the Lady Owls closed out the season opening meet inside the Reno Events Center.
Tech had athletes compete in the 200, 400, 600 and 800-meters on the day, while the throwers had quality showings in the shot put.
McKenna Donovan led the contingent in the 200-meters, breaking her own indoor school record with an adjusted time of 26.22, just ahead of teammates
Ruby Ford (27.07) and
Sydney Soskis (27.21).
Tiffany Humpherys posted a time of 1:00.26 in the 400-meters,
Ava Blatchford ran the 600-meters in 1:43.67 and
Lily Everson ran the 800-meters in 2:38.56.
In the shot put,
Aurora Atwood opened the season with a mark of 11.72 meters (38-5 ½), with
Kalina Saechao (11.51 / 37-9 ¼) and
Amina Redfield (10.45 / 34-3 ½) also competing in the event.
