PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech rallied over their final nine holes to surpass Corban University to claim fifth place at the Cascade Conference Men's Golf Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Glendoveer Golf Course.
The Hustlin' Owls (302-311-303 – 916) were even with Corban (306-298-315 – 919) midway through today's final round, but Tech carded a 2-over-par team score over the front nine (men's teams started on Hole 10), with the Warriors shooting 5-over – including two late bogeys.
British Columbia (294-279-282 – 855) finished the tournament at 21-under-par, 16 shots ahead of second-place Lewis-Clark State (295-294-282 – 871). Southern Oregon (302-300-287 – 889) outlasted College of Idaho (298-305-301 – 904) for third place.
Aiden Schumer (78-64-68 – 210) of UBC used two late birdies to break away from a tie with C of I's Lucas Rynearson (73-69-72 – 214) for medalist honors, with LC's Alex Navarro (73-73-68 – 214) and UBC's J.P. Kahlert (75-70-69 – 214) sharing runner up honors.
Jack Tieman (72-77-75 – 224) led OIT with a 15th-place finish, while
Issey Tanimura (78-79-73 – 230) taking 20th – shooting a final-round even-par 73.
Kade Bracken (74-81-77 – 232) and
Silas Guzlas (78-76-78 – 232) shared 24th-place, with
Tyler Vassar (86-79-81 – 246), playing in his final collegiate tournament, placed 39th.
