Silas Guzlas posted the top round of the day for Oregon Tech, but the Hustlin' Owls were unable to keep pace with the leaders on Day 2 of the Cascade Conference Men's Golf Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Glendoveer Golf Course.
OIT (302-311 – 613) struggled throughout the day, shooting a second-round 19-over-par 311, dropping into sixth-place in the standings, 40 strokes off the lead set by British Columbia (294-279 – 573). LC State (295-294 – 589) is alone in second, with College of Idaho in third (298-298 – 596).
C of I's Lucas Rynearson (73-69 – 142) and UBC's Aiden Schumer (78-64 – 142) are tied for the overall lead – with Schumer setting a new CCC scoring record with a 9-under-par second round.
Jack Tieman (72-77 – 149) leads the Owls and will begin the final round in 13th-place. Guzlas (78-76 – 154) shot a second-round 3-over-par 76 to move into 20th.
Kade Bracken (74-81 – 155),
Issey Tanimura (78-79 – 157) and
Tyler Vassar (86-79 – 165) rounded out the Tech scoring fivesome.
Wednesday's final round will begin with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. – with the leaders expected to tee off around 10 a.m.
