PORTLAND, Ore. –
Jack Tieman tied a season-best round with a 1-under-par 72, sitting in a 3-way tie for second-place after Day 1 of the Cascade Conference Men's Golf Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Glendoveer Golf Course.

Tieman had two birdies and one bogey on the 6,558-yard, par-73 track, tied with Sondre Andresen of Lewis-Clark State and Mackenzie Bickell of British Columbia – chasing leader Riley Kirk of Southern Oregon, who shot an opening round 2-under-par 71.
OIT is in the thick of the team title chase, sitting in a tie with Southern Oregon for fourth-place at 10-over-par (302) – eight strokes behind leader UBC (294). LC State (295) and College of Idaho (298) sit in second and third place with 36 holes remaining.
Kade Bracken carded four birdies on his round, ending the day in tenth-place at 1-over-par (74), with both
Issey Tanimura and
Silas Guzlas shooting opening round 78's.
Tyler Vassar rounded out the OIT scorers, shooting an 86.
Round 2 is set for Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday's final round will have specific tee times to close the tournament.
