Perkins 2nd in Javelin, Finishes 9th in CCC Heptathlon

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Madi Perkins placed second in the javelin, helping the Oregon Tech freshman place ninth overall in the heptathlon, part of the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships at Moehl Stadium.

Abi Stevens of Southern Oregon claimed the individual title with 4,995 points – earning wins in the long jump and 1,500-meters, finishing ahead of Eastern Oregon's Adrienne Washington (4,771), who claimed the javelin title.
 
Perkins threw the javelin 30.66 meters (100 feet, 7 inches) – her best effort in the seven discipline, 2-day event. She added a mark of 4.21 meters (13-9 ¾) in the long jump and a time of 2:49.40 in the 1,500-meters, finishing with a score of 2,785 points.
 
The remainder of the OIT team will compete tomorrow, as the Owls host the OIT Invitational.
