MONMOUTH, Ore. – The duo of twin sisters
Charis Childers and
Corinne Childers posted personal best times, meeting the Cascade Conference Championship Meet 3,000-meter provisional mark, highlighting Oregon Tech athletes on Day 1 of the John Knight Twilight, hosted by Western Oregon.
Charis Childers finished the event in a time of 11:46.42, with
Corinne Childers recording a time of 12;03.92 – both easily meeting the league standard.
Three other Lady Owls competed on the oval – as
Lily Everson ran a time of 1:09.49 in the 400-meter hurdles, with
Chloe Crawford (19:21.46) and Raleena Maxon (19:42.18) raced in the 5,000-meters.
In the throws,
Aurora Parsons led the OIT contingent with marks of 32.87 meters (107-10) in the hammer throw, while taking third in the javelin (36.07 meters / 118 feet, four inches)
The Owls close out competition on Day 2 of the meet, beginning Saturday at 10 a.m.
