ARCATA, Calif. –
Aurora Parsons recorded the top Cascade Conference javelin mark of the season, with Oregon Tech notching seven new league meet qualifying marks at the Humboldt Invitational inside Redwood Bowl.
Parsons had two Top-3 finishes in the throws – taking second in the javelin (39.86 meters / 130 feet, 9 inches) – just 48 centimeters from the NAIA "B" standard. She took third in the discus (38.24 / 125-5), establishing a new CCC standard, while recording seasonal best marks in both the shot put (11.13 / 36-6 ¼) and the hammer (32.92 / 108-0).
The Lady Owls swept both sprints – as
Sydney Soskis (12.61 seconds) and
McKenna Donovan (12.62) went 1-2 in the 100-meters, each hitting the league provisional standard, with Donovan (25.84) earning the win in the 200-meters, just ahead of Soskis (26.05) in CCC qualifying times.
Sophia Small recorded two CCC marks in the broad jumps – taking second in the triple jump (9.91 / 32-6 ¼) and third in the long jump (5.20 / 17-0 ¾) – while
Becca McGee hit the standard in the pole vault (3.01 / 9-10 ½) and
Madi Perkins established a league mark in the javelin (35.19 / 115-5).
Next week, Tech hits the road to the Jenn Boyman Classic in McMinnville.
