REDDING, Calif. – Three Oregon Tech players shot final round 74s, helping the Hustlin' Owls to a fourth-place finish at the Simpson Spring Invitational at Riverview Golf & Country Club.
Tech (295-302 – 597) finished 11 strokes off the pace set by team champ, Southwestern Oregon CC (286-300 – 586), with Southern Oregon (298-289 – 587) and Bushnell (297-294 – 591) just ahead of the Owls.
Issey Tanimura (73-74 – 147) was OIT's top finisher, placing in a tie for fifth overall, with both
Tyler Vassar (74-74 – 148) and
Jack Tieman (74-74 – 148) in a logjam in seventh-place.
Kade Bracken (75-77 – 152) added a 20th-place finish.
Two others –
Tyce Helmick (78-77 – 155) and
Kellen Humphries (85-85 – 170) – rounded out the OIT competitors.
The Owls return to competition in two weeks at the Southern Oregon Invite in Medford.
