LA GRANDE, Ore. – A pair of school records fell by the wayside as the Oregon Tech women's track team concluded the indoor season at the EOU Last Chance Meet.
On the oval,
Tiffany Humpherys shaved 15-hundredths of a second off her own school record, recording a time of 1:00.29 in the 400-meters. While on the runway,
McKenna Donovan capped an outstanding winter by topping the Lady Owls school mark in the long jump (5.28 meters / 17 feet, 4 inches).
Both athletes joined
Ava Blatchford and
Sydney Soskis to win the 400-meter relay (4:14.96).
Donovan and Soskis reached the finals of the 60-meters – Donovan placing third with a time of 8.03 seconds, with Soskis in fifth (8.14), with Blatchford taking fourth in the 400-meters (1:04.86).
In the field events –
Sophia Small cleared 1.44 meters (4-8 ¾) in the high jump and recorded a mark of 5.05 meters (16-7) in the long jump.
Becca McGee cleared 2.45 meters (8-0 ½) in the pole vault, while
Aurora Parsons won the shot put (11.87 m / 38-11 ½), just ahead of teammates
Ciena Gregory (10.28 m / 33-8 ¾) and
Tarrah Bickford (8.41 m / 27-9 ¼).
The Lady Owls will have three weeks to prepare for their outdoor season opener on March 8 at Lane Community College.
