RENO, Nev. – School records in the sprints highlighted Opening Day for the Oregon Tech women's track and field team, as the Lady Owls competed on Day 1 of the Nevada Multi & Invite inside the Reno Convention Center.
In her OIT debut, freshman
McKenna Donovan clocked a time of 26.31 seconds in the 200-meters – nearly a second faster than any over Lady Owl in school history. Fellow freshman,
Tiffany Humpherys followed suit in the 400-meters, setting a new school mark with a time of 1:00.33.
Donovan was Tech's top finisher in the long jump (5.13 meters / 16 feet, 10 inches), with
Ciena Gregory topping the OIT crew in the weight throw (13.56 m / 44-6).
Tech will close out competition tomorrow, with field events set for 10 a.m.
