Odell in 5th-Place After Day 1 of CCC Heptathlon

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Oregon Tech's Ally Odell scored a personal best Day 1 heptathlon score of 2,682 points, sitting in fifth-place overall at the Cascade Conference Multi-Event Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Banner Bank Track.
 
The senior clocked a personal-best time of 27.69 seconds in the 200-meters to push her 4-event score 36-points clear of the mark established earlier this season at the Oregon Tech Multi and Invitational.
 
Odell opened the day with solid time of 15.38 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, cleared 1.56 meters (5 feet, 1 ¾ inches) in the high jump and tossed the shot put 10.25 meters (33 feet, 7 ½ inches).
 
NAIA leader Rebecca Dutchak of British Columbia sits atop the standings with 3,059 points, followed by Eastern Oregon's Lizzy Grandle (3,003), Southern Oregon's Abi Stevens (2,926), Alessandra Ionescu (2,706) of UBC and Odell.
 
Day 2 begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. with the long jump, followed by the javelin and the 800-meters. The Top-8 finishers will score points for the CCC Championships – which will take place May 10-11 at Moehl Stadium on the Oregon Tech campus.
