NEWBERG, Ore. –
Katie Mull and
Ally Odell set school records on the opening day of the indoor track season, as Oregon Tech opened up the year at the George Fox Indoor.
Mull placed second overall in the weight throw, breaking her own school record with a mark of 13.96 meters (45 feet, 9.75 inches). She added a personal best mark in the shot put with a heave of 10.47 meters (34 feet, 4.5 inches).
Odell, prepping for next weekend's pentathlon in Spokane, reached the finals in the 60-meter hurdles, breaking her own school mark with a preliminary time of 9.52 seconds. She also tied the school record in the shot put with a throw of 10.62 meters (34 feet, 10.5 inches) and added a clearance of 1.48 meters (4 feet, 10.5 inches) in the high jump.
Two others competed for Tech – as
Tarrah Bickford recorded a mark of 9.58 meters (31 feet, 5.25 inches) in the shot put, with
Emily Bitler recording marks of 9.31 meters (30 feet, 6.5 inches in the shot put and 10.70 meters (35 feet, 1.5 inches) in the weight throw.
At the Portland Indoor,
Eva Brady competed in the 400-meters, placing 12th overall with a time of 1:03.05.
Tech hits the road to Spokane next weekend for the Whitworth Indoor.
