PORTLAND, Ore. –
Charis Childers capped a outstanding sophomore season with a Top-20 finish, helping Oregon Tech placed fifth overall at the Cascade Conference Women's Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Rose City Golf Course.
Childers posted a 6,000-meter time of 23:35 to place 18th overall – just outside the Top-15 cut-off to earn a potential at-large bid to the NAIA Championships.
Teammate
Jane Kuebrich recorded a Top-25 effort, taking 23rd (23:58), with
Corinne Childers in 26th (24:10). Both
Chloe Crawford (24:57) and
Raleena Maxson (25:11) had Top-40 efforts to round out the OIT scoring runners.
As a team, Tech finished with 133 place-points – finishing behind team champ College of Idaho (25), with Lewis-Clark State and Southern Oregon each recording 83 points (LC awarded second due to a better 6th-place finisher) and Eastern Oregon in fourth (100).
C of I's Kahea Figueira blitzed the field by 20 seconds, winning the individual title in a time of 21:53.
