REDDING, Calif. – A career-best effort from
Chloe Crawford helped Oregon Tech to a runner-up finish at the season opening Simpson Invitational at West Valley High.
The Lady Owls recorded 32 place points, just behind team champ, No. 21-ranked Southern Oregon (25) – as four OIT runners finished in the Top-10.
Crawford, coming off an outstanding track campaign, took second overall with a time of 25:52 on the difficult 6,000-meter course.
"Chloe absolutely crushed it today," said OIT head coach
Mike Anderson. "The course was difficult, extremely hilly – and it was a hot morning."
Charis Childers took third for OIT (25:47),
Corinne Childers was sixth (26:43),
Aubrey Strang was tenth (27:23), with
Raleena Maxson in 11th (27:29).
The Lady Owls head next Saturday to Arcata, Calif., for the Jim Hunt Invite – hosted by Cal Poly Humboldt.
