Lady Owls Place 13th at Charles Bowles Invite

SALEM, Ore. – Marked improvement from 2023 to 2024 over the same course helped Oregon Tech, as the Lady Owls placed 13th overall at the 49th Annual Charles Bowles Invitational.

Traversing the 5,000-meter course at Bush's Pasture Park, OIT had a 76-second gap between their No 1 and No. 5 racer, with the Owls finishing with 375 place-points. Division I Saint Mary's claimed the team title with 56 points, ahead of College of Southern Idaho (76), Hawaii (91) College of Idaho (107) and the University of Portland.

"It was as good of a meet as we could have hoped for," said head coach Mike Anderson.

Charis Childers led Tech with a time of 18:54, placing 58th – finishing 47 seconds faster than her time in 2023. Corinne Childers finished in 19:30, taking 77th – 24 seconds  ahead of her time from last season.

Jane Kuebrich (19:29) shaved 85 seconds off her 2024 time of the course, placing 95th; Raleena Maxson (20:50)  and Chloe Crawford (20:10) closed out the scoring runners. Three others – Ava Robinson (22:34), Natalie Hammond (24:08) and Eli Haas (25:43) also competed.

Tech takes next week off in preparation for the George Oja Invite, hosted by Linfield, in Independence, Ore.
