INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – Three Top-60 finishes and five runners within the Top-85 helped the Oregon Tech women's cross country team to a tenth-place finish at the George Oja Invitational at Oak Knoll Golf Course.
The Lady Owls finished with 250 place points, just behind rival Eastern Oregon, with Division I teams from Oregon State and Portland claiming the team. Tech had 81 seconds between their first and fifth finishers.
Sophomore
Charis Childers continued a strong season with a 41st-place finish in a 6,000-meter time of 23:10. Both
Jane Kuebrich (23:37) and
Corinne Childers (23:40) took 59th and 60th.
Chloe Crawford (24:22) took 79th and
Raleena Maxson (24:31) placed 82nd to cap the Lady Owls scoring runners.
"Good day from our women's crew today," said head coach
Mike Anderson. "Another great race from Charis and our older runners all raced really well."
Tech has a quick turnaround, heading next weekend to the Bushnell Classic.
