PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon Tech closed out the men's cross country season with a seventh-place finish at the Cascade Conference Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at Rose City Golf Course.
The Hustlin' Owls posted all five scoring runners in the Top-50, recording a tight 32-second gap between their first and fifth-place runners – but did not have a racer finish in the Top-30.
Toby Ruston capped his cross country career with a 31st-place effort, with his time of 26:32 tops for the Owls. Both
Tucker Piper and
Bryce Worrell were right behind him, Piper in 33rd (26:35) and Worrell in 39th (26:55), while
Kai Miles (27:03) and
Maxwell Cox (27:04) took 44th and 45th.
Tech ended the meet with 172 place-points just seven points back of sixth-place Northwest. College of Idaho dominated the field with 24 points, placing four runners in the top-six, led by overall champ, Daniel Butler (24:12) – who earned the win by 17 seconds over Eastern Oregon's Justin Ash (24:29).
