MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. – Top-10 finishes from sophomore

Kai Miles led Oregon Tech to a close third-place finish at the Jim Hunt Invitational at Beau Pre Golf Course.
Racing at the 8,000-meter distance, host Cal Poly Humboldt earned the team win (30), with Southern Oregon narrowly outpointing the Owls (47-51).
"This was a great first meet of the year," said head coach
Mike Anderson. "Big steps forward from our young group."
Worrell led a tight OIT pack (49 seconds separating the No. 1 and No. 5 finisher) with an eighth-place finish (26:30), with Miles, in his collegiate debut, placing ninth (26:31) – jumping 11 positions over the second half of the course.
Toby Ruston (26:38) took 12th, with Max Cox (27:15) in 18th and
Tychon Preston (27:19) placed 20th.
The Owls return to competition in two weeks at the Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational.
