REDDING, Calif. – Underclassmen
Kai Miles and
Ethan Krieger each posted Top-5 finishes, as the Oregon Tech men's cross country team opened up the 2025 season at the Simpson Invitational at West Valley High.
The Hustlin' Owls placed second in the four-team meet – recording 40 place points, trailing only rival Southern Oregon (19).
SOU claimed the Top-3 spots on the podium, but Miles, a sophomore, clocked a time of 27:11 on the 8,000-meter circuit, to finishing fourth, while Krieger, making his collegiate debut, was fifth after recording a time of 27:29.
Bryce Worrell placed eighth (28:09),
Colten Strohmeyer was 11th (28:40) and
Braedan Doherty finished 12th (29:07) to round out the OIT scorers.
Tech heads next to the coast, competing next Saturday at the Humboldt Invitational.
