INDEPENDENCE, Ore. – Battling illness and nagging injuries, the Oregon Tech men's cross country team grinded out an 11th-place finish at the George Oja Invitational, hosted by Linfield University, as Oak Knoll Golf Course.
Competing against 22 other teams, the Hustlin' Owls had three racers finish in the Top-100 of the 260-runner field. The University of Portland had five of the top six finishers to claim the team title.
Bryce Worrell continued his strong start to 2024, placing 50th overall with an 8,000-meter time of 25:49. The Owls were helped by Toby Ruston (26:23), who took 77th, with
Tychon Preston (26:38) finishing 91st.
Kai Miles (26:53) and Max Cox (26:58) rounded out the scoring runners for OIT.
Tech has a quick turnaround, heading next weekend to the Bushnell Classic.
