Hustlin' Owls in Tight Battle at Danish Classic in California

SOLVANG, Calif. – Jack Tieman led Oregon Tech with a 2-over-par 74, as the Hustlin' Owls sit three strokes out of second place after Day 1 of the Danish Classic at Alisal Ranch.
 
OIT finished the day with a team score of 308, just behind Bushnell (305) and Hope International 306 – with host The Masters (286) holding the team lead.
 
Tieman sits in a tie for seventh-place overall, chasing leader Jonathan Larson of TMU, who shot a 4-under-par 68. Seth Bishop of TMU and Ty Salvador of Simpson are two strokes back at 2-under-par.
 
Tyler Vassar had five birdies today and sits in ninth-place after a first-round 75, with Kade Bracken (79), Issey Tanimura (80) and Silas Guzlas (80) closing out the scoring players.
 
Round 2 is set for an 8 a.m. start.
