LOOKING BACK: The Hustlin' Owls had another banner season, finishing 2023 with an 11-5-3 record, qualifying for their seventh straight Cascade Conference Tournament – advancing to the league semifinals. Tech had three banner results early in the season – a scoreless draw at Menlo (a team that qualified for the NAIA Championships), a 3-1 road decision at OUAZ and a 1-0 road win at defending CCC champ, Warner Pacific. The Owls posted a big come-from-behind home win over Rocky Mountain, scoring two goals inside the final five minutes, to claim a 3-2 victory, while scoring two goals inside the final 15 minutes to earn a draw at Carroll. OIT ended the year with 47 goals scored and 37 assists – each the No. 3 mark in a single-season in program history.
10-WIN SEASONS: The 11-win season marked the third-straight year OIT has posted double-digit wins, with the Owls logging their fifth-straight winning campaign.
POSTSEASON RECAP: OIT finished the regular-season in a tie for fourth-place in the final CCC standings – earning a quarterfinal match-up with Carroll College. Tied 1-1 after 90 minutes, the Owls recorded back-to-back goals in extra time to advance to their third-straight CCC semifinal – a match OIT dropped to regular-season champ, Southern Oregon, 4-2. Both SOU and College of Idaho earned bids to the NAIA Championships, but each of the CCC squads bowed out in the first-round of the tournament.
RIDEOUT MAKES HISTORY: Outside back
Brock Rideout capped a remarkable OIT career by earning his fourth All-CCC award – the first 4-time all-conference player in program history. The fifth-year senior established career school records with 27 goals, 20 assists, 74 points and 10 game-winning goals, while playing in a record 85 matches.
