SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Hope International University scored three unanswered goals, erasing an Oregon Tech 2-0 halftime lead. The Royals won 3-2 in OT in the final game of the Master's Fall Classic on Reese Field. OIT falls to 0-2 on the season while HIU improves to 1-2 with the win.
"We finally got the monkey off our back and scored some great goals," said Head Coach
Matt Munhall. "Unfortunately the game doesn't end at halftime. We still have work to do before we are a great team, but we will continue to strive for that each day in training and in every competition. Our next test will be against UC Merced and we will have to be sharp for all 90 minutes to find a result there."

Brennan Gazdik sent a through ball to the feet of
Lodewijk Bloemzaad who gave the Owls an early 1-0 lead just 76 seconds into the match.
Bloemzaad repaid the favor as he set up
Cade Roske who gave Tech the early 2-0 lead in the 17
th minute.
HIU cut the Owls lead to 2-1 when Christopher Ribet scored in the 57
th minute.
An own goal by Oregon Tech made it a 2-2 game in the 58
th minute when the Tech keeper failed to clear a back pass.
Neither team could score over the final 30 minutes, forcing the "Golden Goal" overtime.
The Royals put away the game winner in the 10
th minute of OT when Coby Jacobs scored off a pass from John Mejia.
Tech had more opportunities in the match with a 22-14 advantage in shots and a 13-9 edge in shots on goal.
Up Next: The men will look to pick up their first win of the young season Monday when they play at UC Merced in Merced, California at 3:00 pm. The Owls will then return home for a match-up against Sierra Nevada College in the Hustlin' Owls home opener
