Notable Info: Bloemzaad, a 5’11” winger/forward, comes to Oregon Tech as a proven successful attacker through his fourteen year club experience at his local club VV UDO and most recently playing for Racing Club Leiderdrop (RCL). During his time with VV UDO, Bloemzaad earned many personal achievements including being named Team MVP for two years running (’12 & ’13) while scoring a total of 35 goals and 30 assists over 42 games. Bloemzaad’s hard work in training and success on the pitch were noticed by his coaches as he was presented with the opportunity to start as a 14 year old in the U17s in 2011 and debut with the club’s U19s as a 15 year old in 2012. In his final season (’13-‘14) with VV UDO, Bloemzaad tallied 14 goals and 19 assists over the span of 16 games. At the culmination of the 2014 season, Lodewijk swapped clubs, signing for Racing Club Leiderdrop (RCL) for the opportunity to play for their U19s in the state league Hoofdklasse.

Coach Munhall comments: “Lodewijk is a proven attacking player. He has had the opportunity to play for a high level club for many years making him well prepared to play college soccer in the USA. He is a crafty player that reads the game well and understands how to break down defenses through the pass and the dribble. We are very excited to add a player of his pedigree to our men’s soccer program here at Oregon Tech.”

Lodewijk is the son of Herman and Leonora Bloemzaad and plans to major in management at Oregon Tech beginning fall 2015.
