Hustlin’ Owls Capture Playoff Berth with 4-0 Win in Montana

GREAT FALLS, Mont – Oregon Tech produced three goals in the final 45 minutes to secure a 4-0 win over the Argos of the University of Providence on Saturday afternoon. The win clinched a playoff berth for the Hustlin Owls who move to 11-4-2 on the year and 8-3-1 in Cascade Conference play.

"Today we really got back to playing Oregon Tech soccer," said Head Coach Matt Munhall. "We moved the ball well on the ground and did a great job getting the Argos under pressure. We needed the result today to continue into the post season. We stay alive and now prepare to play either SOU or Corban in the CCC tournament."

The Owls held a 15-9 edge in shots, dropping the Argos to 7-6-3 on the season.

Following a scoreless 30 minutes of play, the Owls broke the draw when they found the net on a goal from Anthony Santillan in the 37th minute. The Argos managed to tie the Owls in shots during the opening period, but just couldn't find any scoring opportunities as they headed into the breakdown 1-0.

The Owls made it 2-0 in the 64th minute as Daniel Blessinger netted a shot from the right side of the box. Blessinger tallied another goal slightly over two minutes later to put the Owls up 3-0 in the 66th minute. Oregon Tech added some insurance in the 72nd minute as Cade Roske scored on a long ball to put the Owls up 4-0.

The Argos and the Owls will both travel to Springfield, Oregon to compete in the Cascade Conference Championship quarterfinals on November 7.
