2017 Season: As a sophomore, Driessen played and started in all 17 games for the Owls as a center mid. He bagged 3 goals and 2 assists on the season, totaling 8 points. His role in the midfield helped his team to a 5th place finish in the CCC with an overall record of 8-8-1. He was named All-CCC Honorable Mention as we as CCC Scholar Athlete at the end of the season.

2016 Season: As a freshmen, Joey started and played in all 19 games for the Owls. He helped the team achieve the best overall season record in program history at 9-8-2, also making the CCC conference tournament for the first time in program history. 
Joey earned All-CCC Honorable Mention accolades at the end of the season, as well as being voted by his teammates as the Team MVP and the "Gold Ball Award" as the top overall player on the team. 

Prior to Oregon Tech -

Club Team: UVS Leiden

Background: Joey grew up playing with current Owl Lodewijk Bloemzaad at club VV UDO in the Netherlands. In his teens, Driessen transferred to UVS Leiden to have an opportunity to play at a higher competitive level and regularly compete against professional club’s youth teams, including big name clubs like PSV Eindhoven and AJAX Amsterdam. Driessen made his debut with UVS Leiden’s senior team as a 17 year old and has been playing with them for the last two years. Competing in the second highest amateur division in the Netherlands, Driessen regularly competes against members of the Dutch U21 National Team.

Coach Munhall comments: “Joey has had a tremendous Dutch soccer education and playing experience. He has continued to grow and prove himself as a player at every level of competition. We will be looking for him to establish himself in the squad quickly and help strengthen our midfield right away. We are very excited to be adding a second ‘Dutch Brother’ to our program.”
Joey is the son of Peter and Yvette Driessen and will be majoring in Communication Studies.
