CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon Tech's Kristine Schmidt was named McDonald's-Urban Edge Network Cascade Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the third time in 2026, announced by the league office.

The junior, from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, had a dominant outing on Friday in the Lady Owls 3-0 victory over No. 5 Southern Oregon, tossing a 2-hit shutout, striking out a season-high 11 batters. It was Schmidt's league-best 15th win of the season.

OIT and Southern close out their 4-game weekend series on Tuesday, with a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Stilwell Stadium.
