LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Four Oregon Tech softball players were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as members of the All-Region IV team, announced by the governing body.
Pitcher
Kristine Schmidt and second-baseman
Nita Cook were selected as first-team picks, while catcher
Sawyer Stenson and third-baseman
Addison Kachnik were named to the second-team.
The awards honor student-athletes from the Association's six NAIA regions with selection to one of two teams. NFCA-member head coaches nominate and then vote for the winners in their respective region.
Schmidt, a junior, was the Cascade Conference Newcomer of the Year, after going 19-4 with a 1.66 ERA – leading the team with six shutouts, three saves and 159 strikeouts.
Cook, a senior, earns All-Region honors for a third-straight season – leading Tech with a .438 batting average and 27 stolen bases – finishing her career ranked about the Top-5 in program history in eight different stat categories.
Stenson, a senior, had a breakout season in 2026, hitting .363 with four home runs, 14 doubles and 33 RBI, while Kachnik, also a senior, capped a 4-year career with a big year, hitting .394 with eight homers, 15 doubles and a team-best 53 RBI.
All honorees move forward to be considered for selection for the two NFCA NAIA All-America teams, which will be announced June 4.
