Kristine Schmidt was honored as McDonald's-Urban Edge Network Cascade Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office.
The junior, from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was instrumental in the Lady Owls series win at Simpson, improving to 19-3 on the season.
Schmidt did not allow an earned run in three appearances - pitching a 1-2-3 seventh inning for a save in the series opener, while allowing just one hit in five and two-thirds innings of relief, striking out seven, in Game 2. In Game 3, Schmidt went the distance, allowing an unearned run on three hits, striking out four, to earn her seventh win - dropping her ERA to 1.46.
OIT returns home this weekend, hosting Warner Pacific in a Friday-Saturday 4-game series.
