MONTEREY, Calif. – Oregon Tech heads into Day 2 of the RCA Electric Classic in seventh-place, as the Hustlin' Owls compete on the difficult TPC Monterey course.
Tech (293-300 – 593) struggled in the afternoon round – as all five players recorded at least a double-bogey or worse, after a quality opening 18 where the Owls combined to post just three double bogeys.
The NCAA Division II dominated field was paced by Dominican (291-284 – 575), with both Stanislaus State (290-289 – 579) and Menlo (285-294 – 579) sitting four shots back.
Silas Guzlas (73-72 – 145) continued his strong play, leading the Owls with a 5-over-par total on the par-70 track, sitting in 15th-place. Teammate
Kade Bracken (73-75 – 148) joined Guzlas in the Top-25 and will begin the final round in 25th-place.
Colin Field (74-76 – 150),
Eastyn Ewell (74-77 – 151) and
Massimo Cereghino (73-79 – 152) rounded out the OIT playing five.
Day 2 will begin tomorrow at 8:20 a.m.
