OIT Duo Named to NAIA Softball All-America Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Oregon Tech's Kacie Schmidt and Nita Cook were honored today as members of the NAIA Softball All-America Team, announced by the national office.

Schmidt was selected as a first-team pick – the third-straight year she has been named an All-American, earning first-team honors in 2023 and second-team honors in 2024 – joining Sarah Abramson, Tara Moates, Meagan Webber and Brenda Ruppel as the only 2-time first-team selections in program history.

The senior joins Abramson as the only pitchers in program history to record three 24-or-more win seasons, finishing 2025 with a 24-6 record and a 1.84 ERA – closing her career ranked No. 2 in program history in both wins (82) and strikeouts (630).

Cook was named to the third-team for the second-straight year – becoming the 11th player to earn multiple All-America (first, second or third-team) accolades.

The Cascade Conference Player of the Year hit .362 on the year with 29 RBI, setting a new single-season school record with 44 stolen bases, while recording a league-best .991 fielding percentage at second base.

OIT ended the season with a 45-11 overall record, advancing to the NAIA National Championships for an 11th-straight year.
