ASHLAND, Ore. –
Tate Wyman had a career day to kick off the Cascade Conference Championships, helping the Oregon Tech men's track team score 15 of their 30 points at Raider Stadium.
The sophomore earned All-CCC honors with a third-place finish in the long jump, recording the sixth-best mark (6.85 meters / 22 feet, 5 ¾ inches) in program history. He followed with a personal-best time of 15.75 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, placing fourth, while helping the 4x100-meter relay team to a fifth-place effort – with the time of 42.31 seconds the third-fastest time by an OIT relay team.
The Owls picked up 10 points in the pole vault, as
Tyas Selby earned All-CCC honors with a second-place finish after a clearance of 4.80 meters (15-9), with
Logan Shurts (4.30 / 14-1 ¼) in seventh.
On the track,
Braedan Doherty (9:47.60) and
Bryce Worrell (9:50.40) placed sixth and seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, earning the Owls five team points.
Four others competed on the day –
Tychon Preston (10:21.06) placing 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Toby Ruston (4:15.36) taking 13th in the 1,500-meters,
Maxwell Cox (35:52.87) placing 15th in the 10,000-meters, with
Ryan Doherty taking 17th in the 400-meters (51.34). In addition, the 4x800-meter relay team took third (8:44.60) in an exhibition race.
