KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Three Oregon Tech men's athletes are set to compete at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, set for May 20-22, in Asheville, N.C.
Eli Stevens makes a return trip to the event, while
Braedan Doherty and
Nolan Sieben head to the meet for the first time.
Stevens, a senior, will compete in a pair of events – the decathlon on Wednesday and Thursday, along with Friday's pole vault. The Cascade Conference champion in both events – is seeded in the Top-10 heading into Nationals.
Doherty, a junior, will race in the preliminaries of the 3,000-meter steeplechase after hitting the NAIA "B" standard during the spring season and earning All-CCC honors with a second-place finish at the CCC Championships.
Sieben, a freshman, is set to compete in the javelin after posting an NAIA "B" mark at the Pacific Northwest Invite and recording a personal-best mark of 61.29 meters in finishing second at the CCC Championships.
Both the javelin and the steeplechase prelims are set for Wednesday competition.
