KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Familiar foes will travel to the Basin this weekend, as Oregon Tech welcomes four teams for the 2025 NAIA Softball National Championship Opening Round, beginning Monday morning at Stilwell Stadium.
 
The 5-team bracket will determine one of 10 bids to the NAIA Softball World Series, set for May 22-28, in Columbus, Ga.
 
Hosting the event for a fourth-straight year, the Lady Owls (42-9) earned the top seed and will meet the winner of Monday's first game between Jamestown (N.D.) and Arizona Christian at 4 p.m. Southeastern (Fla.) and Midland (Neb.) will meet in Monday's second game.
 
UJ (35-15) won the North Star Athletic Association tournament title and are making their first tournament appearance since 2018. The Jimmies are led by NSAA Pitcher of the Year Hope Ransome (13-7 2.30 ERA) and outfielder Maddie Spaeth (.420 2 HR 51 RBI).
 
ACU (27-24) won the Great Southwest Athletic Conference tournament title as the No. 3 seed and are led by Medford softball legend, Mike Mayben. The Firestorm are paced by All-GSAC shortstop Morgan Bradford (.344 1 HR 28 RBI) and pitcher Dayna Herrera (17-14 4.06 ERA; .376 1 HR 41 RBI). The squad is making their first NAIA appearance since 2016.
 
SEU (40-9) is the Sun Conference regular-season and tournament runners-up and ended the regular-season ranked No. 15 – and are making their fourth-straight Opening Round appearance. The Fire swept the top league awards – as Chapel Cunningham (.394 0 HR 17 RBI, 37 SB) was named Player of the Year and Maria Zelenka (17-4 1.18 ERA) named Pitcher of the Year. The two teams met in the 2022 NAIA World Series, with SEU earning 4-3 win.
 
MU (37-15) was the regular-season runner-up in the Great Plains Athletic Conference, with the No. 21 ranked Warriors making their seventh-straight NAIA appearance. First baseman Reese Floro (.430 0 HR 25 RBI, 18 SB) and pitcher Campbell Petrick (15-6 1.86 ERA) lead the squad from Fremont, Neb. OIT and Midland met in the 2023 NAIA World Series, with Tech eliminating the Warriors, 10-5.
