Lady Owls Honored by NFCA and College Sports Communicators

DALLAS, Texas - Oregon Tech softball players have been honored today by both the College Sports Communicators and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for their contributions on the field and in the classroom.

Three players - Kacie Schmidt, Jayce Seavert and Marla Goodspeed were named to the CSC NAIA Academic All-District 4 Team. To earn the distinction, one must play in 90% of games, maintain a 3.50 or greater GPA and be selected by a panel of athletic communication professionals. Schmidt has been selected to advance to the final ballot of the prestigious Academic All-America Team - an award she earned following the 2023 season.

Four players - Schmidt, Seavert, Nita Cook and Zoe Allen - were selected to the NFCA All-Region IV team. 

Schmidt earns first-team honors for the third-straight season, with Seavert, Cook and Allen each earning second-team accolades. Each of the four were named to the All-Cascade Conference Team.
