MONMOUTH, Ore. –
Ryan Doherty ran the fourth-fastest 400-meter hurdle time in the Cascade Conference this season, one of three new league meet qualifying marks by Oregon Tech athletes on Day 1 of the John Knight Twilight, hosted by Western Oregon.
Doherty recorded a time of 56.39 seconds, finishing fourth overall – his second individual qualifying time for the CCC Championships. Also in the intermediate hurdles was
Tate Wyman, who also qualified for the CCC meet with a time of 1:01.19.
Tychon Preston took second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking a CCC provisional time of 9:55.72.
In the 1,500 – the top-four OIT competitors recorded personal best time – led by
Bryce Worrell (4:04.62),
Braedan Doherty (4:05.27) and
Tucker Piper (4:06.90).
Kai Miles (15:27.64) led the Owls contingent in the 5,000-meters, with
Eli Stevens posted a mark of 40.60 meters (133 feet, 2 inches) in the javelin.
The Owls close out competition on Day 2 of the meet, beginning Saturday at 10 a.m.
