ARCATA, Calif. –
Tate Wyman posted personal best marks in three events, with Oregon Tech men's track athletes recording three new Cascade Conference Championship cuts at the Humboldt Invitational inside the Redwood Bowl.
Wyman took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.60 meters (21 feet, 8 inches) – the seventh-best mark in the CCC this year. He followed with outstanding runs in the sprints – clocking 11.31 seconds in the 100-meters and 23.03 seconds in the 200-meters.
Tucker Piper had a stellar run in the 800-meters, taking third overall – with his time of 1:54.23 the third-fastest in the CCC this season.
Along with Wyman and Piper,
Logan Shurts hit a conference mark with a fourth-place effort in the high jump (1.84 meters / 6-0 ½).
Toby Ruston led the Owls contingent in the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:06.14, with
Ryan Doherty improving his conference qualifying mark in the 400-meters, clocking a time of 50.19 seconds, while adding a personal best time in the 200-meters (22.99).
Next week, Tech hits the road to the Jenn Boyman Classic in McMinnville.
