OPPONENT PREVIEW – EASTERN OREGON: The road swing opens Friday at Eastern Oregon, the top team in the CCC and one of seven NAIA teams yet to lose a match in 2025. The Mountaineers (8-0-4, 5-0-2 CCC) are off to their best start in program history – despite playing just two home matches – outscoring their opponents 25-9 and posting five shutouts. Returning All-CCC picks in midfielders Daniel Kropf (2 goals, 2 assists) and Jesus Alvarez (1 goal, 1 assist), along with defender Jacob Russell pace the club, with Marcus Bravo (7 goals) and Henry Lopez (2 goals, 6 assists) leading the team offensively. Returning keeper Anthony Lemus (0.70 GAA) is the top goalie. It is the 12th meeting, with the Owls holding a 7-1-3 series lead.
 
OPPONENT PREVIEW – COLLEGE OF IDAHO: Tech makes the 150-mile journey from La Grande to Caldwell for Saturday's late night date at College of Idaho – trying to win their fourth match in five outings against the Yotes (2-3-3, 2-3-2). C of I is coming off two draws in Montana, with the team outscoring their foes, 16-13 – after playing just one countable preseason match (played five scrimmages/exhibitions). All-CCC forward Keidin Green (6 goals, 1 assist) is the Coyotes top player, with Pierre Fabre (4 goals, 4 assists) and Eric Hornung (3 goals, 1 assist) key to C of I's success. Returner Matej Hron (1.80 GAA) has played every minute in goal for the Yotes, who hold an 18-5 all-time series lead.
 
ONLY SWEEP: The trip to EOU and C of I has been a difficult one – as the Owls have swept the trek just once – picking up a 2-0 win at Eastern and a 1-0 win at C of I in 2021. That win against C of I in Caldwell marked Tech's only win ever on the Yotes home turf, as the Idaho side has a 11-1 record against the Owls in the Treasure Valley.
 
FACING A "RANKED" TEAM: The Owls will face a team receiving votes in the NAIA poll for the second time this season on Friday (played Carroll on Oct. 2) – as Eastern Oregon was the second team listed in the ORV category. Last season, Tech was 2-4-1 against teams in the poll – including a draw against No. 25 Southern Oregon. OIT last earned a win against a Top-25 team in 2022 – a win over No. 25 Corban.
 
OWLS REMAIN UNBEATEN AT HOME: The win over Providence on Friday improved the Owls home record in 2025 to 3-0-1, with the team holding a 5-match unbeaten strike on their own field. Since the OIT Soccer Field was transitioned from natural grass to an artificial turf surface in 2017, the Owls have posted a 43-12-7 record on their own pitch. Since 2020, Tech has dominated foes, recording a 34-7-6 home record.
 
A WIN IN A DOWNPOUR: The weather last Friday was not optimal, as a driving rainstorm, coupled with a brisk wind coming off of Upper Klamath Lake, made conditions for the OIT-Providence game difficult. The Owls made the most of the situation, scoring goals in both halves, recording a 17-7 edge in total shots, blanking the Montana side, 2-0. Tech scored off a set piece in the first half, as a Patrick Chan corner kick was headed home by Bridger Meyer, while in the second half, Eric McGuire scored his third goal of the year, touching home a short cross from Elias Castro.
 
ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET: Keeper Harvey Bolland continued his outstanding season, getting support from his center backs Bridger Meyer and Cooper Hunt, recording the fifth shutout of the season in the win over Providence. Bolland made four saves in the victory – dropping his goals against average to 0.82 – with the transfer ranking among the Top-5 in the CCC in both GAA and shutouts.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Over the last six matches, the Hustlin' Owls have recorded exactly seven shots on goal in five of the contests – turning the chances into 12 goals. OIT opponents have combined for 30 shots on goal during that period, scoring six. Defensively, the Owls have held the opposition to 10 total shots or fewer in eight of the 11 matches, with Tech posting a 5-0-3 in those games.
 
AROUND THE CCC: Week 4 in the Cascade Conference featured six draws among the 11 matches, with no teams posting a 2-0 record. Eastern Oregon logged the best win of the season, claiming a 3-2 road victory at Carroll, but followed it up with a 1-1 draw at Rocky Mountain. This week, Carroll and Rocky each travel to in-state rival Providence, with Bushnell hosting Corban in their travel-partner game. Warner Pacific and Walla Walla are off to Northwest and Evergreen State, with Tech and Southern making the journey to EOU and C of I.

The Hustlin' Owls are one of four teams remaining in the CCC that has not received a red card in 2025.
 
NEXT WEEK: Tech will close out their home schedule next weekend, playing host to Bushnell (Oct. 24) and Corban (Oct. 25). The Oct. 25 match will mark Senior Day for the 2025 men's soccer senior class, with the student-athletes set to be honored in a ceremony between the women's game and men's game.
