Â
SCHEDULE UPDATE: OIT's match-up on Saturday at Rocky Mountain has had an adjusted time to accommodate the Lady Owls travel plans – with kickoff from Billings, Mont., now set for 10:30 a.m. (MDT) / 9:30 a.m. (PDT)
Â
OPPONENT PREVIEW – CARROLL COLLEGE: The trip begins in Helena on the new artificial turf at Nelson Stadium, as Tech meets Carroll College. The Fighting Saints (3-1-3, 1-1-1 CCC) have preseason wins over Arizona Christian and OUAZ, but have played Whitman, Whitworth and Northwest to draws. The team has outscored foes, 14-7, with All-CCC forward Delaney Moczan (3 goals, 1 assist) the player to watch – having scored 14 goals in 2024. Rachel McAllister (3 goals, 1 assist), Deanna Lord (2 goals, 1 assist) and Ella Kuenzli (1 goal, 3 assists) are offensive options, with All-CCC picks in defender Avery Lambourne and keeper Maria Ackerman (1.09 GAA, 20 saves) anchoring the back. Carroll leads the all-time series, 10-5 – including a 7-0 mark in Helena, as OIT has scored just one goal on the Saints home field.
Â
OPPONENT PREVIEW – ROCKY MOUNTAIN: Tech closes out the long trip Saturday morning with a date along the Yellowstone River in Billings vs. Rocky Mountain. The Battlin' Bears (4-1-1, 2-0-1) are off to a tremendous start – with preseason wins over Benedictine Mesa and Arizona Christian, while notching league victories over Evergreen and Carroll. The squad has outscored opponents, 13-6, thanks in part to All-CCC forward Emma Lensing (8 goals, 1 assist), who ranks No. 2 in the CCC in scoring. The playmaking duo of Georgia Dean (1 goal, 6 assists) and Mya Maack (1 goal, 2 assists) pace the club, while keeper Matea Vernon (1.06 GAA, 24 saves) has played the majority of minutes. It is the 12th all-time meeting, with Tech 5-4-2 against RMC, including a 2-4-1 in Billings.
Â
LONG TRIP: The Owls will fly to their destination this week instead of a 14-hour, 900-mile one-way drive. The team will leave the Basin on Wednesday morning, taking an Alaska Airlines flight from Medford to Bozeman (though Portland), followed by a drive to Helena. The team will drive Friday from Helena to Billings and fly home from Billings following the Saturday morning match.
Â
PLAYING IN MONTANA: Tech heads to Montana for the 13th time – having played matches in 2003, 2007, 2010, from 2015-19 and every year since 2021. Overall, the Owls are 6-12-1 in the Treasure State.
Â
ON GRASS: The Lady Owls are scheduled (weather permitting) to play just their second match on grass this season – as the contest at Rocky Mountain will be at Wendy's Field in Billings. OIT has not won a match on grass since the 2023 season – a victory at the University of Providence. Only five schools – Rocky, Providence, Walla Walla, Northwest and Evergreen – play games on grass surfaces (though recent matches at NU and TESC were played on turf due to conditions).
Â
AN ANOMALY IN ASHLAND: A tight, physical match-up between the Lady Owls and Southern Oregon turned quickly on Friday afternoon – as SOU scored four goals in a 12-minute stretch, as a 1-0 score became 5-0 in the blink of an eye. A pair of unlucky bounces went against OIT, with the Raiders adding a pair of great individual efforts for goals. It was the most goals surrendered by Tech since a 5-1 loss to Jessup in 2015 and the sixth time SOU has scored 5-or-more goals vs. OIT (first since 2014).
Â
WINS VS. LOSSES: The statistical difference between wins and losses is evident for OIT in 2025 – as in the six wins (and one draw), the Lady Owls have allowed a combined five goals and limited opponents to 6.5 shots per game. In the losses to Embry-Riddle and Southern Oregon, Tech has surrendered a combined eight goals and allowed 20.5 shots per game.
Â
FRESHMAN SCORES FIRST GOAL: Tech avoided a shutout in the loss at SOU, as true freshman
Brynne Cope made an outstanding play in the box – eluding a defender and driving a left-footed shot into the upper left corner of the net. Cope became the 13th different player for the Lady Owls to score a goal in 2025 and the 15th player to record a point in a match.
Â
STARTING 11: Through nine matches this season, four players on the Lady Owls roster have started every match –
Raeah Raymondo,
Solei Elletson,
Chloe Cook and Emma Glazebook. In addition, two players –
Shelby Geiger and
Kaylie Hashizaki – have started each of the eight matches they have played.
Â
CLIMBING THE WINS LIST: With the win over Evergreen on Sept. 20, head coach
Tom Moore moved into fourth-place on the all-time OIT wins list with his 28th victory. The third-year skipper has a 28-12-6 record with the Owls – four victories away from the No. 3 spot on the all-time list – chasing Bryan Mueller (66), Brandon Porter (43) and Casey Tate (32).
AROUND THE LEAGUE: League leaders will meet this weekend – as Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho, the two 4-0 clubs in the table, square off in Caldwell – after sweeping Bushnell and Corban. Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech head to Carroll and Rocky Mountain – with SOU and RMC meeting on Thursday, with the two sides posting identical 2-0-1 records. Providence hosts Northwest and Evergreen on the heels of a road sweep at Warner Pacific and Walla Walla. WPU and WWU also hit the road, facing Corban and Bushnell.
