ARCATA, Calif. – Big days from the throws group led the way for the Oregon Tech women's track team, as the Lady Owls closed out competition at the Humboldt Invitational.
"Really good day for us – lots of big PR's and new conference marks," said head coach
Mike Anderson. "The best part was we were the loudest and most supportive team at the meet. This is such a fun group to work with."
Katie Mull recorded a season-best mark in her hammer throw win (45.89 meters / 150 feet, 6 inches), while hitting a conference qualifying standard with a second-place mark in the shot put (10.69 meters / 35 feet, 1 inch).
Emily Bitler took second in both the discus (35.89 meters / 117 feet, 9 inches) and the hammer throw (39.81 meters / 130 feet, 7 inches) – posting a career-best hammer mark by over three meters.
Both
Ciena Gregory (35.49 meters / 116 feet, 5 inches) in the discus and
Ally Odell (10.64 meters / 34 feet, 11 inches) in the shot put, punched their ticket to the CCC meet.
On the track,
Eva Brady won the 800-meters (2:23.57) and
Lily Everson hit a conference mark in the 400-meter hurdles (1:08.86). In the steeplechase, both
Jane Kuebrich (12:16.89) and
