CLACKAMAS, Ore. –
Katie Mull recorded a season-best hammer throw mark, as the Oregon Tech women's track team competed on Day 1 of the Larry Byerly Invitational.
With host Lewis & Clark not having a throws area, the hammer and javelin were conducted today at Clackamas Community College – with the remainder of the meet to take place on the L&C campus on Saturday.
Mull placed fourth overall with a mark of 46.15 meters (151 feet, 5 inches) – just off her own school record. Three others competed in the event –
Emily Bitler (38.45 meters / 126 feet, 1 inch),
Ciena Gregory (32.55 m / 106-3) and
Tarrah Bickford (26.95 m / 88-5).
In the javelin,
Ally Odell placed third overall in tough conditions – recording a mark of 32.38 meters (106 feet, 2 inches).
Kate Miles placed fourth (31.42 m / 103-1) and Mull took ninth (28.39 m / 93-1).
Day 2 of the meet starts tomorrow at 9 a.m.
