CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech women's track and field team opened the 2024 outdoor season at the Pacific Northwest Invitational, establishing five Cascade Conference provisional marks in the one-day meet at Whyte Track.
Solid days from
Ally Odell and
Katie Mull, along with quality performances on the oval, keyed the OIT efforts.
"I am really pleased," said OIT head coach
Mike Anderson. "We hit conference marks, established personal bests and took advantage of the great weather with great performances."
Odell recorded two CCC marks – placing seventh in the 100-meter hurdles (15.58) and adding a personal best mark of 35.67 meters (117 feet) in the javelin. She added a second PR with a time of 28.13 seconds in the 200-meters.
Mull placed sixth in the hammer with a mark of 45.04 meters (147 feet, 9 inches) – easily meeting the league provisional, while also competing in the javelin (29.10 meters / 95 feet, 5 inches) and shot put (10.35 meters / 33 feet, 11 ½ inches).
Jane Kuebrich etched her name in the conference meet – taking second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:50.16).
On the track, Claire Strong debuted in the 100-meters (15.16);
Eva Brady (2:24.36) and
Mackenzie Peterson (2:42.85) ran in the 800-meters;
Corinne Childers (5:07.61) and
Charis Childers (5:07.75) raced in the 1,500-meters, with
Kira Morrow (13:20.42) competing in the steeplechase. In the throws,
Tarrah Bickford competed in the discus (24.71 meters / 81 feet, 1 inch), hammer (30.54 meters / 100 feet, 2 inches) and shot put (8.93 meters / 29 feet, 3 ¾ inches).
Next weekend, OIT hosts their first meet at Moehl Stadium in over a decade – welcoming teams to the Oregon Tech Open.
