OPPONENT PREVIEW – EVERGREEN (0-1-1) | 29TH MEETING | OIT LEADS SERIES, 18-9-1 | LAST MEETING – 2025 (OIT 3, TESC 1): The conference schedule begins Friday in Olympia, Wash., as the Lady Owls tangle with Evergreen. The Geoducks are coming off a 1-1 draw against Simpson, one of two countable games the team has played this fall, while the squad competed in four non-counting scrimmages. The duo of Madeline Dorendorf and Izzy Widener are TESC's top returning scorers, combining for 10 goals during the 2025 season, while Gabrielle Paniagua and Isabella Williams have scored the Geoducks two goals in 2026. Keepers Malina Grijalva (1.00 GAA) and Katie Grisham (2.00 GAA) have shared time in goal. OIT takes a 9-match win streak against TESC into the contest, with the club looking to improve on a 7-6 mark on the Greeners home field.
 
OPPONENT PREVIEW – NORTHWEST (1-1) | 27TH MEETING | OIT LEADS SERIES, 15-10-1 | LAST MEETING – 2025 (OIT 2, NU 1): Day 2 in Washington has the Owls on the shores of Lake Washington, meeting Northwest University. The Eagles have played just two counting matches – a 3-2 win over Park-Gilbert and a 3-0 loss to Puget Sound, but have played two exhibitions and three scrimmages. NU returns a pair of All-CCC defenders in Alivia Berry and Ella Baker, with Megan Hurley (1 goal) returns after scoring three goals in 2025. Ali Tiechner (3.33 GAA) has played the bulk of minutes in goal this season. The Owls have a 15-10-1 all-time record vs. the Eagles and a 6-6-1 record on NU's home pitch.
 
LONGEST ROAD TRIP ROLLS ON: The traveling road show that is the Lady Owls heads to Washington this weekend, closing out the longest road trip in program history. OIT will open 2026 with seven consecutive games away from the Basin, surpassing a stretch of 6-straight games to start the 2006 campaign. Next week, Tech will finally open the home schedule against Southern Oregon, the latest home opener, as the previous mark was held by the 2001 team that opened home play on Sept. 21 vs. Cascade. The positive slate – the Owls will play seven of their final 10 matches of the season on their own turf.
 
CONFERENCE SEASON UPON US: The 13 teams in the Cascade Conference open their league season this week, as each of the sides will play 12 games to determine a regular-season champ that will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament, along with the eight teams that will advance to the CCC Championships to play for a second national berth. This season, OIT will play 7-of-12 conference matches in the Basin, hosting the five teams (College of Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Southern Oregon, Rocky Mountain and Carroll) picked ahead of them in the CCC preseason poll.


LONG DAY NETS WIN: Day trips are nothing new for the Lady Owls, but a 5-hour down and back trip isn't the easiest. OIT made the most of their excursion to the Napa Valley, earning a 4-1 victory at Pacific Union to end non-league play at 3-2. Playing on a grass field that wasn't particularly manicured, Tech scored off four of the seven shots they put on frame to secure the win.
 
MATTOX LEADS THE WAY: Leading the Tech offensive attack in California was Ryane Mattox, who posted a goal and an assist in the victory. The senior played a perfect cross to set up the Owls second goal of the match, while earning an early second half penalty after a tackle in the box and converting from the spot. Mattox is the lone player on the squad with multiple goals on the season.
 
FIRST GOALS: Three players posted their first goals of the 2026 season in the Pacific Union win – Kaylie Hashizaki, Kaelyn Jaentsch and Alejandra Salcedo. For Hashizaki and Salcedo, it was each of their second career goals – for Hashizaki, her first since 2024 – while Jaentsch scored for the first time as a collegian.
 
FIRST START FOR EVERSON: The Lady Owls turned to Paige Everson in goal for the final non-conference game, as the redshirt sophomore made the most of her first career start. Everson, who had played 28 minutes in goal during a 2024 match in her only appearance, stopped 4-of-5 shot attempts on frame, securing her first victory.
 
AROUND THE CCC: A quiet week of non-league play closed out the preseason, as Carroll earned their first win of the year at Whitworth, Corban played Stanton to a draw before losing to Linfield, while Southern Oregon stopped Simpson. CCC play opens Thursday and runs through Sunday, as Providence travels to Corban and Bushnell, Rocky Mountain is at Carroll, OIT and Southern head to Evergreen and Northwest, with Walla Walla and Warner Pacific making the trip to Eastern Oregon and College of Idaho.
